Safeguarding

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs G Callaghan
Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) is Mrs D Sutton
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead for Children with Disabilities is Miss A Pemberton
Frodsham Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Our safeguarding children/child protection policy is reviewed by the Welfare Team and ratified by our Governors on an annual basis. All staff receive annual safeguarding training at the start of the new academic year and further training throughout the year.

Our Welfare Team have meetings on a regular basis to discuss any concerns which have been raised by staff or members of the public about the welfare of our children. The outcome of these meetings is to ensure the best possible support is in place for the child to help them reach their full potential.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would compromise the child’s welfare.

Our school follows recruitment procedures laid out by the Local Authority that support the safeguarding of our children.

If you are concerned about a child’s welfare, please record your concern, and any observations or conversations heard, and report it to one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL’s) at the earliest opportunity on the same day. Please DO NOT carry out your own investigation.

If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff (which could suggest that she/he is unsuitable to work with children) then you should report this to the Headteacher who will consider what action to take.

If the concern relates to the Headteacher, please refer the matter to the Chair of Governors – Juliet Brown.
